Chinese Dish
I love Chinese dishes, especially chop suey. You can add chicken, pork or any type of meat you want to this dish. This time I did not have any meat added to it, just vegetables.
I used the following vegetables: onions, mushrooms, bell peppers any color, broccoli, green onions, baby corns, bamboo shoots, water chestnuts, sugar snap peas, bean sprouts, cabbage and I add Chinese noodles or very thin spaghetti.
If I use meat heat some oil, I use olive in a large wok, and once it is hot, I add the meat to the pan, with pepper cook until the meat is browned.
Then I put in the onion due to it takes a while to cook this, along with the mushroom and continue cooking over high heat until the veggies are slightly softened maybe about 3 minutes. Then add the broccoli, bell pepper, green onions and saute this about 30 seconds, now add the cabbage (or baby bok choy, nappa cabbage) I just use regular cabbage.
Sometimes I get a packet with the flavor already done, called chow mein so I can just add this. Then we stir in the bean sprouts, baby corns, bamboo shoots, water chestnuts, sugar snap pea’s for about 30 seconds.
For the noodles I cook in water like you are going to do spaghetti, and just add it to the chow mein.
My family loves it. I hope yours does to. Enjoy and have fun.
